Whyalla : Whyalla is the third most populous city in South Australia after Adelaide and Mount Gambier. It is a seaport located on the east coast of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia.

It was founded as Hummock's Hill in 1901 by the Broken Hill Proprietary Company (BHP) as the end of a tramway bringing iron ore from the Middleback Ranges to be used in the lead smelters at Port Pirie as flux. A jetty was built to transfer the ore. The settlement consisted of small cottages and tents clustered around the base of the hill. The Post Office opened in 1901 as Hummock's Hill and was renamed Whyalla on November 1, 1919.

Gawler Ranges : Enjoy the dramatic scenic beauty of timeless volcanic ranges and abundant flora and fauna. The park consists of many volcanic rock formations over 1500 million years old. The rocky gorges vast hills and steep gully create a magnificent landscape with the seasonal water flows.

The National Park is 550kms and around a six hour drive north-west of Adelaide. As you travel along the winding, gravel road through the Gawler Ranges, it is difficult to comprehend that these gentle and peaceful hills were the result of powerful volcanic activity millions of years ago.

The ranges are a spectacular wilderness area of unspoiled beauty. Vast domes of volcanic rock display a vivid array of colour against the pure white of the many salt lakes in the area, including Lake Gairdner. The ranges are renowned for their display of wildflowers in the spring. The area is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna species, including 21 rare and endangered species.

Ceduna : Ceduna is a small town in the West Coast region of South Australia. It is situated in the northwest corner of Eyre Peninsula, west of the junction of the Flinders and Eyre Highways around 786 km northwest of the capital Adelaide. With a population of 2,304, the town is the last major settlement before crossing the Nullarbor Plain from east to west.

Ceduna is in the District Council of Ceduna, the federal Division of Grey, and the state electoral district of Flinders. It is set on Murat Bay and the sandy coves, sheltered bays and offshore islands of the bay make it a popular base for a beach holiday. The name is a corruption of the local Aboriginal word Chedoona and is said to mean a place to sit down and rest.

The foreshore at Ceduna is lined with Norfolk Island pine trees. There is a jetty for walking, fishing and small boats.

The port town/suburb of Thevenard lies 3km to the west on Cape Thevenard.

Fowlers Bay : Fowlers Bay, formerly Yalata, is a small coastal town in South Australia, located approximately 912 kilometres north west of the state capital, Adelaide. Situated on the Nullarbor Plain, it was once an active port and a gateway to the western reaches of the continent, but fell into decline in the 1960s. At the 2006 census, Fowlers Bay and the surrounding area had a population of 125.

The coastline around Fowlers Bay was first mapped in 1627 by François Thijssen, a Dutch sea captain. His ship was the Golden Seahorse (Gulden Zeepard).[3] Fowlers Bay was named by Matthew Flinders when he anchored his ship The Investigator in the waters on 28 January 1802, after his first lieutenant, Robert Fowler.

Edward John Eyre set up base camp here in 1840 during his epic journeys across the Nullarbor Plain. By this time the area was well-known to American and French whaling ships; Eyre documents seeing whalers in the area.

In the 1860s, the first pastoral leases were established by William Swan and Robert Barr-Smith, forming Yalata station, a massive farming property, whose boundaries encompassed from the Head of the Great Australian Bight to Streaky Bay.

The region was surveyed in March 1890 and proclaimed a town (under the name Yalata) in the Government Gazette in 1890, with the name changed to Fowler's Bay in 1940. Yalata now refers to a nearby township.

Today Fowlers Bay is located in the unincorporated area of South Australia (only 15% of the state is under Local Government). The town does not receive reticulated power or water. It is currently a popular overnight destination between Nundroo and Penong, and its good fishing facilities, attractive beaches and surrounding historical ruins gives the town some interest for tourists and sightseers. There are no sealed roads to Fowlers Bay and visitors should seek advice before driving across the saltwater bog behind the town.

Visually the town is dominated by a large sand dune that protects the town from the Southern Ocean.

The ruins of the homestead of the Yalata station can be found several kilometres from the town. There is a small cemetery on the outskirts of the town.

Port Lincoln : Port Lincoln is a city in the Australian state of South Australia. It is a coastal city situated on the Boston Bay at the southern extremity of the Eyre Peninsula. It is the largest city in the West Coast region, and is located approximately 280 kilometres (straight line - 646km by road) from the capital city Adelaide.

British naval explorer Matthew Flinders discovered the harbour in February 1802. Because of its particularly good harbour, he named it Port Lincoln rather than just Lincoln, where Flinders came from. It is thought that only the lack of a reliable nearby water supply stopped Port Lincoln becoming the state capital of South Australia.

Transylvania (Romania) 2004 : Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle)

At time when Castles of Loire Valley hardly started to rise, at times when Alcaz Castle from Toledo, in Spain, almost was finished, in 1377, the King Ludovic I de Anjou, began the construction of Bran Castle, to fortify the one of the kingdom gates against Ottoman Empire danger.

In 1382 The castle already was finished.

Ten years late, the castle has belonged to the voivode of Romanian country, Mircea cel Batran. After his death, the castle has belonged to princes of Transylvania.
Vlad Tepes, well-known as Dracula (The Devil), made this castle his residence.

Dracula was the Wallachia (Medieval Romania) king. His hystorical name was Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler). Vlad was born in Sighisoara, Transylvania province. He was very cruel, especially with thiefs and country enemies (at that time the Turks). The only radical low applied was dead trough splinter. The condamned was introduced in the tip of a tall sliver (3 meters), vertically fixed on the ground. The death was produced by the loose of the blood.
Vampires?

Dracula Vampire Legend is very controversial these days. Numerous historical facts prove Dracula was the first well-known vampire in Transylvania.

Turkish Delights : Turkey (Turkish: Türkiye), known officially as the Republic of Turkey (Türkiye Cumhuriyeti), is a Eurasian country that stretches across the Anatolian peninsula in western Asia and Thrace (Rumelia) in the Balkan region of southeastern Europe. Turkey is bordered by eight countries: Bulgaria to the northwest; Greece to the west; Georgia to the northeast; Armenia, Azerbaijan (the exclave of Nakhichevan) and Iran to the east; and Iraq and Syria to the southeast. The Mediterranean Sea and Cyprus are to the south; the Aegean Sea and Archipelago are to the west; and the Black Sea is to the north. Separating Anatolia and Thrace are the Sea of Marmara and the Turkish Straits (the Bosporus and the Dardanelles), which are commonly reckoned to delineate the border between Asia and Europe, thereby making Turkey transcontinental.

Due to its strategic location astride two continents, Turkey's culture has a unique blend of Eastern and Western tradition. A powerful regional presence in the Eurasian landmass with strong historic, cultural and economic influence in the area between Europe in the west and Central Asia in the east, Russia in the north and the Middle East in the south, Turkey has come to acquire increasing strategic significance.

Turkey is a democratic, secular, unitary, constitutional republic whose political system was established in 1923 under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, following the fall of the Ottoman Empire in the aftermath of World War I. Since then, Turkey has become increasingly integrated with the West through membership in organizations such as the Council of Europe, NATO, OECD, OSCE and the G-20 major economies. Turkey began full membership negotiations with the European Union in 2005, having been an associate member of the EEC since 1963, and having reached a customs union agreement in 1995. Meanwhile, as a Muslim-majority country,[8] Turkey has continued to foster close cultural, political, economic and industrial relations with the Eastern world, particularly with the states of the Middle East and Central Asia, through membership in organizations such as the OIC and ECO. Turkey is classified as a developed country by the CIA and as a regional power by political scientists and economists worldwide.

My Biography :

Welcome To The World as Seen Through My Eyes..........

I am a freelance stock photographer based in Perth, Western Australia. I've had a camera in my hands as far back as I can remember. I've had a keen interest in photography, this started back in the 80’s while at school.

However, it was not until the mid 90’s that I got serious with photography and decided to step up to a DSLR. I've also been educating myself about photography and training my eyes for great shots. I love capturing the moments and sharing it with others. I am never without my camera, it is always with me to capture every visual delight on offer.

For the past 18 months I have been selling my work on a stock photography website, you can see my stock photo’s by clicking on this link below:

I do not have a specific subject so I photograph anything that captures my eye. After all, the world is a picture in motion waiting to be framed.
